That would represent an equivalent fat loss to out and out fasting, which would be remarkable if it were true.

In terms of the data I'm collecting, aside from temperature, I also have a body monitor which I wear more or less throughout the day, just to try to make some sense of total daily energy expenditure changes.

My temperature has been a bit all over the map, with a delta of 1 degree Fahrenheit across over a few days. I'm trying to come up with a nice way to present this on an ongoing basis in the results page.

-PK

Re: You can’t manage what you don’t measure.

Be interesting to see your thoughts on a thermogenic breakdown. Many proponents of the potato diet state that you lose 1/2-1lb per day. That comes out to be like 1750-3500 calorie deficit if we suppose this loss is fat correct? I don't think someone of your size and stature is going to see the upper end of that scale, but still should be interesting. I suppose the body temp will be acting as proxy for metabolic rate as you said.

Re: Day 1 – The Meal

Thanks for the encouragement!

While I actually do like potatoes, I haven't been eating them or other starchy vegetables for years now. I don't know that anyone could make them the centerpiece of a diet.

I recall reading somewhere that even those cultures where subsistence is predicated on tubers and corms, they are among the least preferred of foods, a question of necessity rather than choice.

Hopefully, we'll learn something from this.

-PK

Re: Day 1 – The Meal

good luck...I can't even include potatoes on a daily basis let alone make them the center piece.

Re: Day 1

Yep, black coffee after you're used to a dollop of real cream is... not as nice.
